Janice (Ginny) Redish has been a passionate evangelist for usability and clear communication for more than 30 years. She was an invited speaker at the first UPA (now UXPA) conference and has been called the “mother of usability.” Ginny co-authored the first book on usability testing (with Joe Dumas) and the book User and Task Analysis for Interface Design (with JoAnn Hackos). Her most recent book is the award-winning Letting Go of the Words – Writing Web Content that Works. Ginny is a former member of UXPA’s board of directors and was honored with UXPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Ginny earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics at Harvard University.
