Thanh Nguyen Thanh is an Experience Research Director at Mad*Pow, a strategic design consultancy in New England. In this role, Thanh works with clients and leads user experience research projects to uncover insights about how people interact with the world and with technology, and applies those insights to inform the design of exceptional experiences.
An investigator at his core, Thanh started his career as a police officer, and brings 10+ years of experience from the public and education sectors to his work in UX. In his time working in county government in New Hampshire and at Dartmouth College, he honed his craft of conducting interviews and observations to develop a deep understanding of human behavior, and has helped to design programs aimed at improving the community and people’s lives. These programs have ranged from case management and treatment programs within the criminal justice system, to community-led events to safely dispose of excess medications, to leadership development programs and workshops.
Thanh earned a Master of Science in Human Factors and Information Design from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Keene State College. In his free time, he can be found studying and playing music, practicing his photography skills, and taking up woodworking projects.
