Carol Smith has been conducting usability studies for 18 years and has moderated studies in-person and remotely. She has planned, moderated and analyzed usability studies with children, consumers, doctors, and professionals with differing abilities and disabilities, in a variety of industries, both government and corporate. Carol now leads UX research to improve the self-driving car experience at Uber in Pittsburgh, PA. Carol holds an MS in HCI from DePaul University and has been an active volunteer with UX organizations including serving as an editor of UXPA’s Journal of Usability Studies (JUS) and being a past UXPA board member.
