Survey Analysis for UX Nerds

NOTE: Tom Tullis will be web conferencing in for this course due to unforeseen health issues. Cheryl Tullis will be there in person.

So you’ve done a survey to learn all about your users’ needs, wants, desires, preferences, ratings, and more. Now what? You look at the automatic charts and graphs that your survey tool creates and see that they’re really lame.  It’s time to dig in and do the analysis yourself. This course will teach you everything you need to know to accurately analyze and present the results of your survey. Topics covered will include general data analysis tips (e.g., what analyses can be done with different kinds of data); analysis of demographic data; analysis of rating scales, multiple-choice questions, and check-box data; calculation of margin of error and confidence intervals; analysis of verbatim comments; analysis of standard questions (e.g., SUS, NPS); “slicing and dicing” your data using pivot tables; and statistical tests to help you decide which differences in your data actually matter. Exercises with real data will be used throughout.
